Tala

"Chelsea is amazing! I rescued Tala, my 1 year shepherd mix, during covid and didn't realize how tough it would be. Tala wasn't even house-trained and has some behavior issues. Chelsea's insight into how rescue dogs can be different has helped me to understand and be more patient with Tala. Chelsea provided guidance and the tools to help manage Tala's reactivity and excessive barking. We worked with Chelsea on crate-training, not dashing out the door when leaving the house, loose-leash walking, recalls, and even some fun tricks. Tala has shown so much progress since training with Chelsea. Tala loves Chelsea and is so excited everytime she sees her. I am very happy that a friend recommended her and I totally recommend her to anyone who wants their dog trained."

Brea

"Chelsea is absolutely magical with our Chesapeake Bay Retriever puppy, Brea. Working regularly with her on basic behavior like walking on leash, heeling, and settling down inside. Brea’s also been studying for the Canine Good Citizen test once she turns one year.

Chelsea has become one of Brea’s all-time favorite humans. Brea looks forward to meeting Chelsea and her bag of treats and toys!
We have seen great progress and would recommend Jumpstart Dogs to anyone with a canine companion."

Quavo

"We cannot express enough how much Chelsea has helped our mini goldendoodle, Quavo. We've tried group classes and countless other private trainers but none of them could get through to him.

We know he is in such good hands because Quavo is always so excited to see Chelsea.

Chelsea has been so great to give us detailed reports of his progress and tips so that we can continue to reinforce Quavo’s training at home. In such a short period of time, we’ve seen amazing improvements with Quavo."

Monty

"We started working with Chelsea shortly after we adopted our 2 year old corgi-mix, Monty. While completely adorable, he had a leash aggression issue that made walks stressful and group classes impossible. He also had some herding qualities, like biting at people's feet, that made hosting guests and taking him to the office difficult. Add to that, I was effectively a first-time dog owner, and there was a lot for Chelsea to work on.

I can't express how much her guidance and support helped us. She was extremely patient with Monty, and with us, as we all learned how to get along. She taught us how to use positive reinforcement to encourage the types of behaviors we wanted to see, and how to remain calm when he was naughty to help curb his less ideal reactions. She made sure we had a good mix of hard work and fun in each lesson, and gave us clear tasks to work on when we got home. Monty came into our relationship barely knowing how to sit, and now he knows well over 15 commands.

As a final note, when we moved away, Monty had a VERY hard time adapting to our new home and all the changes, and he started experiencing a lot of anxiety which resulted in some of his bad behaviors coming back ten-fold. Chelsea continued to be there for us, though remotely, and gave us so much great advice and support. I really don't know how any of us would have gotten through the move without her. I can't recommend Chelsea highly enough...and if she ever decides to relocate closer to us, you bet we'll be signing up for more classes so we can continue our progress."

Loki

"Chelsea has been absolutely amazing to work with, and has helped our Loki be a good canine citizen! Her knowledge and insight when it comes to training dogs is incredible.

This was the first time my husband ever had a puppy—Chelsea’s suggestions to make this transition smoother were spot on. She always listens and is willing to provide guidance for how to work with Loki at home. We are so grateful to Chelsea for her innovative suggestions and help to make our Loki a well-trained dog."
